AUTHOR BIO

ZHAO Chuang and YANG Yang are two professionals who work together to create scientific art. Mr. ZHAO Chuang, a scientific artist, and Ms. YANG Yang, an author of scientific children's books, started working together when they jointly founded PNSO, an organization devoted to the research and creation of scientific art in Beijing on June 1st, 2010. A few months later, they launched Scientific Art Projects Plan: Stories on Earth (2010-2070). The plan uses scientific art to create a captivating, historically accurate narrative. These narratives are based on the latest sci¬entific research, focusing on the complex relationships between species, natural environments, communities, and cultures. The narratives consider the perspectives of human civilizations while exploring Earth's past, present, and future. The PNSO founders plan to spend 60 years to do research and create unique and engaging scientific art and literature for people around the world. They hope to share scientific knowledge through publications, exhibitions, and courses. PNSO's overarching goal is to serve research institutions and the general public, especially young people.

PRAISE

"Age of Dinosaurs is the sort of book that can capture the attention and spark the imagination of people of all ages. The images are stunning, with remarkable attention to detail, and are a real testament to the skill of the artist. The scene descriptions are somewhat whimsical, offering a lighthearted avenue for younger readers to relate to the creatures in the scene. They also drive home the point that these were living, breathing animals (no matter how bizarre!) that once inhabited our world-not science-fiction monsters. When I was a child, visually stunning books about dinosaurs and paleontology helped inspire me to become a paleontologist. I expect this book will do the same, inspiring someone to follow their imagination and dreams to become one of the next generation of scientists." -Dr. Ron Tykoski, Director of Paleontology and Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology, Perot Museum of Nature and Science

"This fascinating book takes us through the history of dinosaurs, highlighting the most amazing species from all around the world. Dinosaurs from all continents are illustrated in their natural environments with incredible detail by the talented Zhao Chuang. The accompanying text written by Yang Yang not only describes interesting features of each dinosaur but also explains what was happening on our planet through the different geological times. This is one of the most beautiful and inspiring dinosaur books I have ever seen, and it will take dinosaur fans of all ages on a captivating journey into the deep history of dinosaurs." -Dr. Diego Pol, Chairman of Paleontology, Museo Paleontológico Egidio Feruglio, Argentina

"Zhao Chuang is one of my favorite artists. In this beautiful book, he teams up with the talented writer Yang Yang to breathe life into dinosaurs, in all of their technicolor glory." -Dr. Steve Brusatte, Professor and Paleontologist at the University of Edinburgh and New York Times Bestselling Author of The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs

"The PNSO book series includes incredibly realistic dinosaur artwork on nearly every page with a to-the-point description of the dinosaur that will easily hold a young reader's interest. The world of dinosaurs is beautifully presented in a way that will thrill readers." -Mike Fredericks, Publisher of Prehistoric Times Magazine
