AUTHOR BIO

Throughout her fourteen years as an educator, Monica Lozano Hughes has developed a passion for making learning fun and enjoyable for students. As a classically trained singer, Hughes often incorporates song and rhyme into her lessons, bringing music and entertainment into the classroom. Reading Rachel is her second educational children's book, following Magnet Max, which focuses on the attractive world of magnets! As an advocate for early childhood and development, she actively participates at the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Monica is happily married with three children, and currently teaches kindergarten at L.A. Nelson Elementary School in Denton, Texas.
