This event will celebrate the official release of Stratton Horres’ newest book, From Crisis to Kilimnajaro, a powerful memoir of resilience, transformation, and rediscovery. Through deeply personal reflections, Stratton shares how a life-altering cancer diagnosis inspired him to pursue one of the world’s greatest physical challenges—summiting Mount Kilimanjaro. His story offers an inspiring perspective on overcoming adversity, embracing change, and finding purpose through life’s unexpected journeys.

About the Author

Stratton Horres is a retired civil trial attorney in Dallas, Texas, with over 40 years’ experience managing the Dallas office of a major international law firm. Originally from Charleston, South Carolina, he attended the University of South Carolina Law School, where he was an editor of the Law Review.

Stratton embarked on a spiritual quest traveling around the world after receiving a life-altering cancer diagnosis. This motivated Stratton to redirect his focus from work to traveling with his wife, Debbie. Tackling the biggest obstacle yet—Mount Kilimanjaro—Stratton reflects on the trials and tribulations in life that pushed him to reach the summit.
