David Otis's enthusiasm for writing was a lifelong desire just waiting to be realized following a successful career in business management. After a life-changing visit to Manaus, Brazil, several years ago, David developed an affection for the people of South America and the inhabitants of the Amazon Rainforest. With a passion for animal rescue, David and his wife, Deana, support pet adoption for orphaned and abandoned animals. Sandy is a two-toed sloth that the couple adopted from Guyana, South America, in the winter of 2014. David, Deana, and Sandy reside in North Texas.
