Stubby and His Magic Boots
$15.99

Meet Stubby! He is a little different. Because he lost his toes to frostbite, he can't join in any of the doggie fun the rest of the pups at the shelter can. But then someone kind and accepting of his differences adopts Stubby, and she doesn't rest until she finds a solution to help Stubby get back in the game. Join Stubby in this heartwarming story based on true events.

Stubby is different. As a puppy, he lost his toes to frostbite one cold and forlorn winter night. And while he is safe, warm, and well-fed at the animal rescue, the other dogs there make fun of him because he can't run or chase balls like they do. His new owner, Spirit, understands this, so she goes in search of a life-saving solution that will allow Stubby to join in the doggie fun. What she discovers, and what her energetic little puppy receives, are "magic boots" that put Stubby back into the game. In Stubby and His Magic Boots, Christie Pace weaves a heartwarming tale of hope, endurance, and acceptance. Readers of all ages will find inspiration from this story based on real-life events. With the help of illustrator Morgan Spicer, Pace shows us that Stubby's dilemma isn't merely a physical one. His biggest challenge is actually teaching other dogs that difference and disABLEDness are nothing to be afraid of.
