Brown Books Author Scott Odom Featured on Foxdfw Home Town Heroes
Brown Books author Scott Odom named Hometown Hero by FOX 4’s Clarice Tinsley.
Diagnosed with cancer at 14, Odom, now 27, is a healthy cancer survivor. Walking a tough road, Odom writes about his highs and lows in his book, Stand Up.
The author signed books at Barnes & Noble on both Saturday, May 21st and Sunday, May 22nd at the Hulen Center in Fort Worth. A portion from the sale of each book sold went to the P.L.A.Y. Foundation, a charity that helps children who are amputees.
Odom founded AMP1, a basketball team for amputees who have chosen not to play basketball in a wheelchair: they stand up and run up and down the court. He and his team—who have a sponsor and a six-city tour lined up in January 2012—graced the NBA court at the American Airlines Center during the Mav’s halftime show earlier this year.
